How does e-business work? Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of e-business.

E-Business refers to the employment of information and communication technologies in business processes and is more than just the employment of computers in business processes. Besides computers, other tools through which information and communication technologies can be applied in business include fax, mobile phones and PDAs (personal digital assistants), though the Internet (and Intranets) remain the main avenues through which information and communication technologies are applied in business processes.

Advantages of eBusiness:
  • Promotions & Marketing are cost effective,
  • Online business so that business are done worldwide,
  • Excellent customer service, and
  • Competitive strategy is developed.

Disadvantages of eBusiness:
  • The optimization solutions of eBusiness are expensive, and
  • Sectoral limits.

Economics and Management are ideal intellectual partners, each particularly fitted to strengthen and cross-fertilize the other.
